A Poem a Day Gareth’s haiku hum

Gareth sent in these haiku and I really like them.  They are like little fishing nets that catch a little story, a little moment that you can hold in your head. Each word is in just the right place. Great job Gareth, and thanks for letting me post them. Hope you send in some more poems!

Gareth goes to Ormond Primary School in Gisborne. He is aged 7 and is in Year 3.

Playground

Going down the slide

Playing tag, don’t touch the bark

Over the bridge

Summer

I practice cricket

In the afternoon with Dad,

Then it’s dinner
