A Poem a Day: Bailee’s magnificent rain poem (aged 7!)

Here is another rain poem that was sent in for the big competition. I like the way Bailee has set his poem out in three verses and the last verse is only one line. I like the mysterious tree reflections and I like the sound of the words dripping through the poem. It is a magnificent rain-tree poem. I love it! Great job Bailee!

Bailee is seven, is in Year 3 and goes to Redcliffs School in Christchurch (which is exciting as I am visiting Redcliffs School next week).

I hope you send in more poems to Poetry Box!

Rain Tree

Rain spitting

Rain heavy from reflections

Two trees, one upside down

And one the right way

Heavy rain, light rain

Lightening and thunder boom, crash!

Snow hailing,

Light drips, drip, drop, drip, drop

Light pouring

Sparkling rain
