Holiday Poem Camp: Go fishing for an early memory, then sizzle it in butter, squeeze half a lemon over and then gobble it up!

Madness at the beach this morning — dogs every way you look, including the mini versions of our dogs.

Today’s Holiday Poem Camp Challenge: Go fishing for an early memory, then sizzle it in butter, squeeze half a lemon over and then gobble it up!

Try writing a poem about one of your earliest memories (poets often use memory to help write a poem).

Go on the hunt for words and good detail to start with.

Give yourself a word limit so you don’t end up writing a novel!

Think about what you will let the reader guess.

Play with several endings, then pick your favourite one.

Leave your poem for a few hours, then go and check that it tastes just how you want it to.

Have fun!
