Reading Festival: Daniel’s poem is hooked on books

Daniel is aged 5, in Year 0 and goes to Adventure School in Whitby, Porirua.

He has written a poem about reading with his sister. It is funalicious to read with its cool rhyme. Great job Daniel!

Hooked on Books

We opened the book

And took a look

There was a hook on the book

And off we took

When the book got height

We held on tight

And saw a knight

In the bright moonlight

The knight called Matt

Wore a fiery hat

I said, “What’s that”

Then he squashed it flat

The sky turned black

We wanted to go back

So we went on the track

With a clickety clack

We fled to our bed

Our dreams were fed

Inside our head

From the book we read.
