Try taking a poem of a your mum or dad instead of a photo

Try taking a poem of a your mum or dad instead of a photo.

Your poem-camera is a pretty special thing though, as it not only sees, it hears and catches movement.

Go on a hunt for words with your camera. Find as many words as you can that show what your mum or dad looks like. What do they like to wear?

Use the moving lens and hunt for words that show what your mum or dad likes to do.

Use the ear knob and hunt for the sounds of your mum or dad. What kind of voice do they have? What do they like to say?

Twist the poem-camera and see what your mum or dad likes to eat.

Look through the secret peephole to find out what is anything special about your mum or dad. Do you have a special memory of them?

Now use some of these fabulous words and write a  poem about your mum or dad. You don’t have to say everything.

Read it out loud. Does it sound good?

Then ask yourself whether you have captured a good picture of your mum or dad in your poem.

You can enter your poem in the Eye Poem Competition.

DEADLINE for your Eye-Poem Challenge: Thursday March 27th

Send to paulajoygreen@gmail.com. Include your name, year, age and name of school. You can include your teacher’s name and email. PLEASE say it’s for the eye-poem challenge.
