I keep thinking about the challenge I set you to write a poem called Why the Sky is Blue? that was both imaginative and factual (using facts). I was inspired by The Random House anthology of stories for six-year olds.
It seems like a golden opportunity to do more of this.
I challenge you to write a poem that answers a science question. The poem can be really imaginative and have a bit of fact too.
I have listed some questions but you can always come up with your own.
Why does the sun light up?
How does a star twinkle?
Why do we yawn?
What makes a rainbow?
How does sound travel?
What makes thunder and lightening?
Why is the grass green?
Why does snow snow?
Deadline: Thursday 26th June
Send to email@example.com. Include your name, year, age and name of school. You can include your teacher’s name and email. PLEASE say it’s for the Wonder-Poem challenge.
I will post my favourites and have a book prize for one poet (Year 0 to Year 8).
