Gisborne, wonderful Gisborne

Sixty thirty and I am in my pjs because I have had a long and lovely day. I am tired! After my two school visits where the warmth and welcome was exceptional I headed to Muir’s Bookshop for the event. Seemed to be about 60 there. The children read beautifully. What a grand occasion.

Then off to find dinner and I ended up at a great Turkish cafe (Sofra) where some children were celebrating Alex’s eighth birthday. Some had been to the bookshop and all were at a school I visited. So I gave Alex a copy of the Treasury. Such fun. You can see the bookshop with my poster and my yum yum Turkish mezze platter and me with Alex.

What a fabulous place to visit. I would have loved to have visited all the places the children recommended to me …. especially the museum. I guess I will have to try and come back one day.

And thank you Ormond School for the scrummo lunch.

It was so exciting reading from the Treasury for the first time ever. And greeting out my favourite Letterbox Cat poems

Kia ora Gisborne. Thank you. xxxx
