Egmont Village School is effervescent

This afternoon I visited this little country school having got lost along country roads and gone a twisty, adventurous way.

What a charming delightful place to visit. The Juniors and Middle School hopped straight into poetry making, with words that made us ooh and ah (including a reporter and photographer from the Taranaki paper). Gosh I feel so lucky getting to do poems in such inspiring places. These children made me laugh and jiggle and ponder.

Afterwards several children showed me lovely poems they had written, including one girl who had the coolest book of poems she had made. She writes poems in her spare time and has made such a gorgeous book. Great idea!

Days like this give me poetry energy like a peanut poetry slab or a poetry berry whip or a grilled poetry sandwich. Yum.
